Gryphon’s flight.

Enjoy a Gryphon’s-eye view of our high school campus and environs in Pasadena, California.

The high school shares its campus with the Neighborhood Church in West Pasadena, a stone’s throw from the world-famous Rose Bowl and next door to The Gamble House. On these beautiful grounds, surrounded by trees and historically significant architecture, our students discover who they are and who they want to become.

Thank you to Dominik ’21 for sharing his talent with our community through this student film project!

High School Application Process

Thank you for your interest in Sequoyah School for your child and family.  Our application process is holistic - we ask for multiple records and data points so that we can get a full picture of each applicant.

Sequoyah School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, gender, gender identity, or family structure in the administration of its educational, personnel or admissions policies, financial aid programs, or other school-administered programs.

We look forward to getting to know you during the application process.

Step 3:
Transcripts

Submit the transcript release form to the student’s current school to request that an official transcript be sent to Sequoyah School. Official transcripts may be emailed directly from your school’s registrar to Sequoyah at 9-12admissions@sequoyahschool.org.

Step 4:
Recommendation Forms

Two online recommendation forms are required - one from the student’s Math teacher and one from their English or History teacher.

Students applying to transfer to Sequoyah from another high school are also required to submit an online administrator recommendation form.

From this step in the application checklist in the portal, email the student’s teachers (and administrator for transfer students) to request that they fill out the online recommendation form.

Step 5:
Applicant Interviews

Applicants will be contacted to set up an interview after the application has been received.

A Note on Tests
& Assessments

Sequoyah School is not requiring standardized test results for the 2023-2024 admissions season. If the applicant has a previous ISEE or SSAT score that is more representative of their academic ability than their grades, they may include it as part of the application.

Applicants will complete a Sequoyah School math assessment and writing sample as part of the application process. Details will be provided after submission of the online application.

Indexed Tuition

Applicants planning to apply for Sequoyah’s indexed tuition program should do so at the same time they apply for admission.
